Nicole, over at Organic Sunshine, recently gave me a nice review on the baby spoons I make, which you can read here.
I love making wooden baby spoons. For the same reason my wife and decided to use cloth diapers, we fed both our kids with wooden spoons when they were little. I liked the idea that when they grew out of that spoon it would return to the earth and one day be the dirt that a new tree would grip on this great endless circle that we travel around the sun.
Now that our children are a little older, a little more active, I find myself coaching them to be “gentle, gentle” more than anything else. That’s what I want them to be. That’s how I want them to view their relationship with nature.
Wooden baby spoons are one small thing you can do to start them toddling down that path. The world doesn’t need another seven billion plastic baby spoons.
Now to finish those bowlful of baby spoons…
